In an article entitled: The battle to build Donald Trump’s wall, the Economist magazine says that more than 700 companies are vying build part of Trump’s Mexican wall, which is expected to cost between US$ 12 and US billion. Among them are many local companies with Hispanic owners. Some construction firms such as Skanska, a Swedish company publicly snubbed the project. Its CEO Johan Karlstrom said: “We believe in openness and equality.” In any case foreign firms might stand little chance of winning any bids. The government’s tender rules include a “Buy American” preference.
