In March, the city’s government asked for an evaluation of a plan to charge CHF 120 per bus parking in the town centre, a charge aimed at reducing the problem and contributing to infrastructure costs.
Several infrastructure ideas have been discussed. One, a new underground parking area north of the town linked to the centre by a metro, has been dismissed by the authorities because they think it is unrealistic and costly.
The municipality plans to unveil a new tourism strategy at the end of 2019.
