Empty dwellings census of 1 June 2017
Neuchâtel, 11.09.2017 (FSO) – On 1 June 2017, there were 64’893 empty dwellings in Switzerland, i.e. 1.47% of the entire country’s dwelling stock (including single-family houses). This figure represents an increase of 8375 empty dwellings compared with the previous year, i.e. a rise of almost 15%. These are some of the results of the empty dwellings census published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

Leerwohnungsziffer steigt weiter an
Neuchâtel, 11.09.2017 (BFS) – Am 1. Juni 2017 wurden in der Schweiz 64’893 Leerwohnungen gezählt, das sind 1,47 Prozent des Gesamtwohnungsbestands (einschliesslich der Einfamilienhäuser). Im Vergleich zum Vorjahr standen damit 8375 Wohnungen mehr leer, was einem Anstieg um knapp 15 Prozent entspricht. Dies geht aus der Leerwohnungszählung des Bundesamtes für Statistik (BFS) hervor.
Die Leerwohnungsziffer ist im achten Jahr in Folge angestiegen. In den letzten Jahren hat sich das Wachstum zunehmend beschleunigt.
Die Zahl der leer stehenden Wohnungen ist in allen sieben Grossregionen der Schweiz gestiegen. Das Tessin verzeichnete die grössten Veränderungen in Bezug auf die Leerwohnungsziffer, gefolgt vom Espace Mittelland. Die Region Zürich registrierte mit einer Leerwohnungsziffer von 0,90 Prozent die schwächste Zunahme.
Die Marke von 1 Prozent wurde in 19 Kantonen überschritten, das ist einer mehr (Schwyz) als im Vorjahr. Im Kantonsvergleich verzeichnete der Kanton Solothurn (2,89%) die schweizweit höchste Leerwohnungsziffer, gefolgt von den Kantonen Appenzell Innerrhoden (2,36%) und Aargau (2,34%). Wie im Vorjahr wurde die tiefste Ziffer im Kanton Zug registriert (0,43%). In den Kantonen Basel-Stadt (0,50%) und Genf (0,51%) war sie nur geringfügig höher.
Mehr leer stehende Einfamilienhäuser und Neuwohnungen
Am 1. Juni 2017 wurden in der Schweiz 6785 leer stehende Einfamilienhäuser gezählt. Das sind 262 Einheiten bzw. 4 Prozent mehr als ein Jahr zuvor. Die Zahl der unbewohnten Neuwohnungen stieg innerhalb eines Jahres um markante 1296 Einheiten bzw. nahezu 15 Prozent an. Insgesamt standen am Stichtag 10 064 Neuwohnungen leer.
Mehr zur Miete oder zum Kauf angebotene Leerwohnungen
Am 1. Juni 2017 waren in der Schweiz 53’327 Mietwohnungen unbewohnt. Im Vorjahresvergleich entspricht dies einem Anstieg von 7823 Einheiten bzw. 17 Prozent. Solche Werte wurden zuletzt Ende der 1990er-Jahre beobachtet. Die Zahl der leer stehenden Eigentumswohnungen stieg innert Jahresfrist um 552 Einheiten auf 11 566 Wohnungen an (+5%).
Höhere Leerstände in allen Wohnungskategorien
Im Vergleich zum 1. Juni 2016 stieg der Leerwohnungsbestand in allen Wohnungskategorien (Anzahl Zimmer) an. Die Zunahme betrug zwischen 6 Prozent (Sechszimmerwohnungen) und knapp 19 Prozent (Zweizimmerwohnungen). Die meisten Leerwohnungen haben drei (20 820 Einheiten) bzw. vier Zimmer (19 317 Einheiten).
