The SNB has established an annual "Karl Brunner Distinguished Lecture Series" in memory of the internationally renowned Swiss economist Karl Brunner (1916–1989). The series will feature eminent monetary theory and policy thinkers whose research has been relevant to central banking. The first "Karl Brunner Lecture" will be held by Kenneth S. Rogoff. Kenneth Rogoff is Thomas D. Cabot Professor of Public Policy and Professor of Economics at Harvard University. The lecture will be streamed live on Research TV on 22 September 2016, 5.00 pm. The lecture takes place at the "Metropol" building, Fraumünsterstrasse 12, in Zurich. Doors at the "Metropol" building open at 4.30 pm – no registration is necessary, however attendance is limited and granted on a first come, first served basis.
