Four football bosses accused of fraud by Swiss Attorney General

Horst Rudolf Schmidt, Theo Zwanziger and Wolfgang Niersbach, from the DFB, and Urs Linsi, a former Swiss FIFA official are all under the spotlight. 

The four are accused of fraudulently misleading members of a supervisory body of the DFB organising committee for the 2006 World Cup in Germany in April 2005 about the true purpose of a payment of around EUR 6.7 million.

Schmidt, Zwanziger and Linsi are accused of joint fraud, while Niersbach is accused of being complicit in fraud.

The presumption of innocence of the accused is guaranteed until the final judgment has been pronounced, wrote OAG.
