Das reale Bruttoinlandproduktes (BIP) legte von Oktober bis Dezember 2023 gegenüber dem Vorquartal um 0,3 Prozent zu, wie das Staatssekretariat für Wirtschaft (Seco) mitteilte. Von der AWP befragte Ökonomen hatten Werte von +0,1 bis +0,3 Prozent prognostiziert.

Der vom Seco vierteljährlich erhobene Index der Konsumentenstimmung hat sich seit dem Herbst zwar erholt, er bleibt aber immer noch auf einem tiefen Niveau. Laut Postfinance lagen die Konsumausgaben im Januar um 0,5 Prozent über dem entsprechenden Vorjahreswert.

Ende Januar waren bei den Regionalen Arbeitsvermittlungszentren 113'175 Menschen als arbeitslos gemeldet, wie das Staatssekretariat für Wirtschaft mitteilte. Das waren 6316 mehr als im Dezember.

Die Ökonomen des Bundes erwarten im laufenden und im kommenden Jahr eine schwache Konjunkturentwicklung. Sie sind für 2024 sogar noch etwas pessimistischer geworden. Auch die Inflation werde sich weniger stark zurückbilden als erhofft.

Im zweiten Quartal hat sich das reale Bruttoinlandprodukt in der Schweiz nicht verändert, die Wertschöpfung sank in vielen Branchen, ein Plus gab es nur in der Gastronomie.
