French and Italian broadcasting is cross-subsidized by German-speakers, so these regions have more to lose.
In the recent poll, women (64% against) appear more against the initiative than men (55% against).
When viewed through a political lens, a majority of Swiss People’s Party (UDC/SVP) supporters (73% for) are in favour of the initiative. Supporters of all other major parties are against it. 82% of Socialists and Greens are against it.
The online poll, run on 15 January 2018, questioned 15,197 people across Switzerland.
Only the real vote on 4 March 2018 will count.
