In March 2017, 26.8% of unemployed in the this age group had been without work for more than a year, compared to 2.3% of those between 15 and 24 and 14.1% of those aged 25 to 49. Jeanny Morard, the regional secretary of the union Unia was not happy either. He said when a professional association advertises an age restriction it sends the message that those over 50 are no longer useful. And at the same time time they call for a retirement age of 67. Should some of the company’s board of directors be concerned? From the photographs it would appear that some might be outside this magic age range.
