Der Leitindex SMI stand am Ende 1,01 Prozent tiefer bei 11'642,39 Punkten. Der SLI, in dem die 30 wichtigsten Aktien enthalten sind, fiel um 0,88 Prozent auf 1928,69 und der breit gefasste SPI um 0,86 Prozent auf 15'534,59 Punkte. Im SLI kamen auf 25 Verlierer fünf Gewinner.

Der Euro gab am frühen Abend auf 1,0513 US-Dollar nach. Die Europäische Zentralbank hatte den Referenzkurs zuvor auf 1,0527 (Montag: 1,0568) Dollar festgesetzt.
