Weltweit stieg die Zahl der Milliardäre im letzten Jahr um 7 Prozent auf 2544, ihr Vermögen wuchs um 9 Prozent auf 12,0 Billionen Dollar. Laut dem «UBS Billionaire Ambitions Report» haben die Milliardäre erstmals mehr Vermögen durch Erbschaft als durch Unternehmertum erworben.

Der Finanzstabilitätsrat (FSB) stuft JP Morgan erneut als einzige Bank in die Kategorie vier für global systemrelevante Geldhäuser ein. Die UBS steigt nach der Notfusion mit der CS in die zweite Kategorie.

Seit der CS-Notrettung im Frühjahr sind die AT1-Anleihen im Fokus von juristischem Streit. Nun hat die UBS erstmals neue Papiere herausgegeben, allerdings sind noch kaum Details bekannt.

Die UBS hat gemäss Bloomberg einem katarischen Investor eine milliardenschwere Kreditfazilität verlängert und noch ausgebaut. Scheich Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, früherer Premier und Aussenminister von Katar, könne auf eine Kreditlinie von 9 Mrd. US-Dollar zurückgreifen.

Bei der von der UBS übernommenen Credit Suisse steht laut einem Medienbericht ein erneuter Stellenabbau bevor. Dabei sollen rund 10 Prozent der Support-Funktionen gestrichen werden, schrieb das britische Nachrichtenportal «Financial News».
